Heat Bending at Formco Plastics Heat bending or strip heating is a process which utilizes a single heater and forming fixture. Also called line bending, a sheet is heated along a line or specific area. When that area is up to forming temperature, the sheet is removed from the heat source and placed into a cooling fixture. While somewhat limited in application, the process is very popular since parts can be formed at multiple angles, with uniform thickness with little or no tooling expense. Formco Plastics will heat bend over 100,000 parts in a typical year. Please call to see how this valuable but inexpensive process can benefit you. |
